On Warren Pond Farm invites you to take a vacation.

A low carbon footprint vacation...

$500 for one week; $150 for weekend BOOK EARLY FOR 2010

Four cottages are nestled into the woods near the pond. Two cottages have bunk beds and two cottages have queen size air mattresses. All four cottages are 8’ X 14’ and each one can humbly accommodate two adults. Guests should bring and prepare their own meals. Each cottage has a propane BBQ grill just outside the door. There is also a common pavilion area with BBQ pits, smokers and wood grills.

When you book a week rental you will receive two free day passes to Island Health and Fitness www.islandhealthfitness.com. Enjoy some time at an indoor spa!

Accommodations are for campers and you should bring your own gear. We can assist you in making your vacation comfortable and memorable; however, this is not a luxury resort. Primitive, rustic, remote and peaceful best describe this vacation opportunity.

Since our cottages are not only a service to those who want to learn more about sustainability, seed saving and alternative energy but a revenue stream, your visit is very important to us.

Peace and Quiet

You are invited to relax, slow down and experience life off-the-grid. That means you should not expect to have cellular reception, internet access, satellite reception, cable, telephone or TV.  We ask you to turn off all unnecessary devices during your stay.  Unplug and experience an unmediated experience.

Our 37 acre farm is off-the-grid, powered by solar panels, windmills and a waterwheel without connecting to the national grid. There is no phone, no cellular reception, no TV, no internet connection and no electric service to the cottages.

Seasonal produce is raised for seed crops and you can "pick your own" from our lettuce, vegetable and edible flower beds. The pond is full of perch and big mouth bass. Swim at your own risk. Paddleboat and fishing boat available. Greenways make for ideal hiking, wildlife observation and bird watching.

Bring your own linens, solar shower, potable water, ice, ice chest, fishing gear, bike, and binoculars. No parties. No hunting. Not for everyone. Peace. Quiet. Practical. Opportunity to learn first hand what sustainable living really means.

Real camping with the comfort of a clean cottage and clean carbon footprint. Call SOON for reservations.

Here's the common area in the heat of the midday sun. The pavillon has a large table inside and the BBQ pit is covered too.
