$40 for weekend [Friday 3-6 pm through Sunday 3-6 pm]

EFFECTIVE JULY 20: ALL COTTAGES ARE RENTED THROUGH LABOR DAY 2010.

Four cottages are nestled into the woods near the pond. Two cottages have bunk beds with twin air mattresses and two cottages have queen size air mattresses. All four cottages are 8’ X 14’ and each one can humbly accommodate two adults. Guests should bring and prepare their own meals. Each cottage has a propane BBQ grill just outside the door under a tin roof porch. There is also a common pavilion area with BBQ pits, smokers and wood grills.

FIND YOUR INNER THOREAU: EXPERIENCE A RETREAT IN NATURE

Accommodations are for campers and you should bring your own gear. We can assist you in making your vacation comfortable and memorable; however, this is not a luxury resort. Primitive, rustic, remote, quiet and peaceful best describe this vacation opportunity.

Since our cottages are a service to those who want to learn more about sustainability, seed saving and alternative energy, your visit is very important.

Reservations

Please address all inquiries to Jill Swenson, your farm hostess.jilldswenson@yahoo.com

Reservations require a phone call or email inquiry. Cash, money order or personal checks accepted upon arrival.

On Warren Pond Farm DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. If you can't afford to pay for it, don't buy it. We don't want you to go into debt. We don't want to make the credit card companies any richer and we don't want to pay their transaction fees either. We ask you to respect this choice and appreciate your endorsement of this business practice for a more sustainable future than that promised by Bank of America, Capitol One or American Express.

The guarantee is an experience of a lifetime and an appreciation for living sustainably.

General Information

Arrival time is between 3-6 pm. No late arrivals please, or make arrangements by noon of the day of arrival by phone. 607/387-9100.

Informal clothing and sturdy seasonable footwear are in order. Even in summer, early mornings and late evenings can be cool; so don’t forget to bring a sweater, sweatshirt or light jacket. Linens, towels, sleeping bags and blankets are not provided.

Cooking utensils, groceries, paper products, coolers, ice and beverages will be the responsibility of the campers. Two gallons of bottled spring water will be provided every day for each cottage. Swimming and boating are at your own risk.

When you arrive

Please drive down Deer Run Lane through the woods and stay to your left. Continue down towards the pond and park near the barn and buildings. Your farm hostess will direct you and your vehicle to your cottage and show where you can offload gear from your vehicle near the common area. Your farm hostess will then designate a parking spot. Please park all vehicles during your stay where directed.

No Pets Please!

Please keep your pets at home. Our critters have their own order and a new creature on the property can upset the balance in unanticipated ways. If you arrive with a pet it must be confined to your vehicle. We can recommend nearby boarding kennels, but we cannot allow any additional animals on the property. This is for your safety and the safety of all the animals.

Peace and Quiet

You are invited to relax, slow down and experience life off-the-grid. That means you should not expect to have cellular reception, internet access, satellite reception, cable, telephone or TV.  We ask you to turn off all unnecessary devices during your stay.  Unplug and experience an unmediated experience.

Seasonal produce is raised for seed crops and you can "pick your own" from our lettuce, vegetable and edible flower beds. The pond is full of perch and large mouth bass. Swim at your own risk. Paddleboat and fishing boat available. Greenways make for ideal hiking, wildlife observation and bird watching.

Hear the silence. Reflect, relax, rejuvenate.
